A notable feature of Fountain Valley is Mile Square Regional Park , a 640-acre area that includes two lakes, three 18-hole golf courses, various playing fields, picnic shelters, and a 20-acre urban nature area planted with California native plants. The park also houses a 55-acre recreation center equipped with tennis courts, basketball courts, racquetball courts, and a gymnasium. Additionally, the city offers a community center and a 16,652-square-foot senior center that opened in September 2005.
Fountain Valley hosts an annual Summerfest in June at Mile Square Regional Park. This event features a car show, rides, music, and various booths, providing entertainment for residents and visitors alike.
